Fitness Sports started in a single Clive storefront and became one of the Midwest's largest running and walking shoe stores. Forty years on, it is still a family business with one job: get you into the right shoe.
1984
Steve and Nancy Bobenhouse open Fitness Sports in Clive, Iowa. Over the next three decades it grows into one of the Midwest's largest running and walking shoe stores.
2016
Jordan and Lindsey Andrews open Heartland Soles in Johnston and Coralville, bringing the same fit-first approach to two more Iowa communities.
2021
The Andrews family buys the original Clive store and brings everything together under the Fitness Sports name. Today the family runs seven stores across Iowa.
Two promises we make to everyone
Our Fitting Promise. If the shoe we fitted you in is not right, come back and we will make it right. A fitting is only finished when you are happy on the road.
Price match. We aim to sell the best shoes at the lowest price. If you find the same shoe cheaper somewhere else, we will match it.
Recognized as Iowa's Top Shoe Store by KAYAK, which we take as a compliment to the fitters who make it true every day.
Store hours
All seven stores keep the same hours.
Monday to Friday: 10am to 6pm
Saturday: 10am to 5pm
Sunday: 1pm to 5pm
