Free 1-on-1 fitting

Your fit, found in store

A free one-on-one fitting with a trained fitter, a foot and arch scan and slow-motion video of how you move. Then you try the pairs that suit you and choose. Walk in or book a time.

The fitting process

Four steps to the right shoe

Every fitting is free and takes as long as you need. Walk in any time or book ahead to skip the wait.

  1. Talk with a fitter

You sit down one on one with a trained fitter. We ask about your miles, your goals, any aches you are carrying and what you have worn before, so the shoes we bring out are chosen for you and not for the average foot.

  2. Foot and arch scan

We measure both feet for length and width and scan your arches. Feet change over the years, and most people are surprised by what the scan shows.

  3. Slow-motion video analysis

We film you running or walking and play it back in slow motion. You get to see how your foot lands and rolls, and we use that to narrow down the shoe category that supports you best.

  4. Try, compare, choose

You try the pairs that match your feet and your stride, walk or jog in them, and pick the one that feels right. No pressure and no rush.

Our fitting promise

We want you to leave in the right shoe, and we stand behind the fit. If the pair we put you in is not working, bring it back and we will make it right. That has been the deal since 1984.

We also work hard to keep our prices honest. Find the same shoe cheaper somewhere else and we will match the price, so you never have to choose between the right fit and the right deal.

Fitting questions, answered

What people ask before their first fitting.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk into any of our seven Iowa stores during opening hours and a fitter will help you. If you would rather lock in a time, book a free fitting online and we will be ready when you arrive.

How long does a fitting take?

Long enough to do it properly. Plan on trying several pairs, and if you are short on time, tell your fitter and we will keep things moving.

What should I bring?

The shoes you run or walk in now, the socks you usually wear, and any inserts or orthotics you use. Worn shoes tell us a lot about how you move.

What is the arch scan?

A quick scan of both feet that records length, width and arch height. It helps us choose the right size and width and points us toward the level of support you need.

What does the video analysis show?

We record you running or walking and slow the footage down so you can see how your foot lands, how much it rolls in or out and how you push off. That guides whether you need a neutral, stability or cushioned shoe.

What if the shoe is not right?

Come back and see us. Our Fitting Promise is simple: if the shoe we fitted you in does not work for you, we will make it right.
