Lace up your running shoes and join us for a Pumpkin Spice filled outdoor 5K Race + 1 Mile Fun Run adventure!    Get ready to conquer our scenic trail looped course, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. This event is not just about running; it’s about making a positive impact in our community while enjoying a fun-filled day with family and friends.

5K Race: The 5K race is perfect for both seasoned runners and beginners looking for a challenge. You are welcome to walk, push a stroller or bring your dog.  You’ll embark on a picturesque trail that winds through open fields and over gentle hills. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you push yourself to reach the finish line, knowing that every step you take supports a worthy cause.

1 Mile Fun Run: For those who prefer a shorter distance or want to enjoy a leisurely stroll, our 1 Mile Fun Run is the perfect option. This non-competitive event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Take your time to soak in the beauty of the trail, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants, and make lasting memories with your loved ones. For the kids, there will be a themed mascot to chase throughout the course as well as volunteer runner companions to accompany the children through the race!

Virtual Option: You may use whatever timing and distance tracking method/app that you chose. You are not required to submit your time, however if you want your time posted online, you must submit your time on Run Sign Up by Dec 1st. Regardless of whether or not you submit your time, you are a valued member of our race.  We have a great giveaway package for our virtual runners, but ask that you cover the shipping costs. Please select this as an add when registering.

Charity Cause: By participating in our Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Race for a Cause- Run/Walk (5k + 1 mile fun run), you are directly contributing to a meaningful mission. All proceeds from this event will benefit Mary’s Helping Hands, an organization dedicated to providing hope, love and support for expecting mothers and fathers who may need a helping hand with basic needs for their child’s first year of life. We do this by providing basic necessities such as clothing, diapers and wipes at no cost.  Your participation will make a difference in the lives of those in need and help create a brighter future for our community.

Event Details:

Date: Sat, November 18th   Race Time: 10:00 AM   Location: Valley Community Center (trails).

Packet pickup @ Fitness Sports (8810 Swanson Blvd, Clive, IA 50325) on Friday, November 17th, 4:00-6:30 pm, or day of race @ Valley Community Center from 8:00-9:00 am.

*Day of registration will be available from 8:00- 9:30 at an increased cost. It is HIGHLY encouraged to register in advance for this event as we expect it to fill up!

Welcome festivities will start at 9:00 am with pumpkin spice themed beverages and treats for everyone to enjoy free of charge. At the conclusion of the race you can join us in the gym for music, post-race food, drinks and fellowship. The event will end at 12:00 PM CT.

Giveaways: (the most important part, right?) In person racers 13 and over will receive a race t-shirt, race bib and other exciting items; children 12 and under will receive local food/restaurant card voucher, race themed gloves, race bib and a few other exciting items! Virtual racers: you can opt to pay the added shipping costs and will receive a race day bib, socks and a few additional items as our fundraising evolves. All runners will receive a printable finisher certificate.

Professionally timed event to include chip timing, live online results, finish line video and much more.

Additional info: Everyone is welcome whether you are an avid runner or just looking to get some fresh air. Walkers are encouraged as well for both the 5k and 1 mile run.  Running/jogging strollers are recommended. We welcome dogs, but require them to be on leash at all times.
