Nordic fest is an annual 3-day summer festival held in Decorah, Iowa that celebrates community and the area’s Scandinavian heritage. Started in 1967, Nordic fest is organized by a board of volunteers and offers food, activities and entertainment for the whole family.
The Elveløpet is held on the Saturday morning of Nordic Fest weekend. Hailed as Decorah’s “river run” race course along the Upper Iowa river and surrounding area. This family fun event highlights the natural beauty that Decorah has to offer.
Awards will be presented to the first three finishers in each age group, male and female, for the 5K and 15K runs. Overall male and female race winners will receive a separate award and are ineligible for age group awards. Age groups are the same for the 5K and 15K races: 13 and under, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Registrants may pick up race packets at City Hall on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. or at the canopy tent across the street from City Hall Saturday morning from 6:00-7:15 a.m.
