The Scott Sterrett Memorial Race Weekend returns on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 and it will be the biggest year yet!
We are continuing the traditions you love: 5K, 10K, scenic Half Marathon, Hero Bibs, and incredible race swag!
We are also adding a 2-4 person Half Marathon RELAY!!!!
All races will begin at 7:30am sharp!
Scott Sterrett was a reserve officer for the City of Cedar Falls beginning in May of 2005. Scott was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church. He was an avid runner participating in 23 marathons total, the Boston Marathon twice, and the Chicago and Dallas Marathons multiple times. In addition to his passion for running, Scott had a passion for being a reserve officer with the Cedar Falls Police Department and serving his community.
In 2018, Scott passed away after a fight with pancreatic cancer. This event is dedicated to Scott.
Proceeds from the event will be put into a scholarship for students who plan to pursue a career as a first responder after high school. Our goal for this event is to continue to build a strong relationship between the community and those that serve us every day. While also helping those who want to begin their career as a first responder.
