The Wellmark YMCA’s 34th annual Red Flannel Run is Saturday, February 11th in downtown Des Moines. All proceeds help make healthy living accessible through the YMCA’s financial assistance program. Sponsored by the awesome people at Scrap Processors Inc., Holmes Murphy & Associates, Northwest Bank, RDG Planning & Design, iElectrical, LLC, ARAG, Kinetic Edge, Lawmark Capital, Plymouth Church, True Roots Chiropractic, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, La Mie, and Regenexx, the Red Flannel Run is the longest, consecutively produced race in the Des Moines area with a 5K and 10K option. What began as a couple of guys without dates on Valentine’s Day has grown to a community wide event of do-gooders dressed up in red flannel attire to raise awareness of the Wellmark YMCA and its mission of building community through healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility.
