FROM THE RACE DIRECTOR

As I take over as race director this year, I extend a thank you to Curt and Nancy Hoegh, as their efforts over the past years have made this thransition easier. I also extend thanks to all of the Clive Running Festival race committee members who have agreed to help again this year.
This years course is similar to last year, taking advantage of the scenic Greenbelt trail and the Country Club neighborhood, lake and all. The race committee has strived to keep the entry fees low, to encourage as many runners as possible to race -- adults and children. Our goal is not to make a profit, but for runners to enjoy the race. Any excess over expenses is given to the Clive Parks and Recreation to benefit the local running community. In the past, excess fund from this race have been used by Clive Parks and Recreation to help purchase new snow blowers to assist in clearing the Greenbelt trail in the winter months.
As in the past years, racers can use their race number for swimming at the Clive Aquatic Center on race day. Also, the Clive Running Festival will host the Iowa Senior Olympics 5K / 10K events. For more information, see the Senior Olympics web site,
